Maubara Church is a beach dive on Timor-Leste's west coast, in front of the church at Maubara. It is a very smooth slope with a sandy bottom and plenty of big bommies, and you can enter from the beach at any time.
Depth runs from 5 to 25 metres, and Open Water certification is enough. Hard and soft corals are colourful, with fish all around. Nudibranchs, shrimps and crabs hide along the bottom, and big pelagic fish often cruise by, with turtles, tuna and mackerel on a lucky day. Both wide-angle and macro lenses have something to shoot, and the site can be snorkelled.
