The Mizpah is a 185-foot (56 m) wreck off West Palm Beach, Florida, sunk on purpose as an artificial reef. She started as a steel-hulled private luxury yacht, served as a troop carrier in the Atlantic in the Second World War, and later worked as a banana freighter before ending up as scrap on the Miami River.
She sits upright in 90 feet (27 m) on a sand bottom and is still remarkably intact. Heavy coral and marine growth covers her, with plenty of fish, including some very large blue angelfish. All the doors and portholes were removed before she sank, and with currents flushing light through her she is easy to penetrate, and lights are seldom needed.
The patrol craft PC11 sits right next to her, and the freighter Amaryllis lies about 300 yards away on the sand.
