About this site
Napaling is a steep wall on the north side of Panglao Island, Bohol, about 7 km and a 20 to 25 minute boat ride from Alona Beach. The reef runs from 5 m to 18 m on the shallow section, and the wall continues deeper. The healthy coral gardens hold hard corals, table corals and sea fans, and it also makes a good snorkeling site.
Large schools of sardines gather in the shallows above the wall. Surgeonfish, wrasses and parrotfish are common, green sea turtles are often seen feeding, and eagle rays and reef sharks appear occasionally. Strong currents can run here, especially at high tide and spring tides.
