Old Wreck

Old Wreck is a shore and drift dive entered by giant stride from stairs behind a hotel swimming pool. It is open to Open Water and Advanced Open Water divers, and the maximum depth is 18 metres.

The route goes to the first corner and continues right towards the west to a middle depth of 16 metres. You pass the small pieces of the shipwreck and then a formation called the Glasses, then return along the upper level at 12 metres, rising to 8 or 9 metres near the exit. The ship probably came from Egypt carrying huge pieces of glass.

Colourful small fish, sponges, shells, sea urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers cover the rocks, with fireworms and, occasionally, octopus, moray eels, groupers and silver dentex. When the water is warm a loggerhead turtle sometimes comes to hunt.
