Punta Argentina (Argentina Point) is a rocky offshore island dive site in the Papagayo Gulf region of Costa Rica, reached by a 10–20 minute boat ride from Playas del Coco. Long fingers of rock extend from the island out into deeper water, creating a distinctive terrain of rocky ridges dropping to a maximum depth of 27 m (90 ft), with the shallowest point around 8 m (25 ft).
The site is known for frogfish, large numbers of stingrays, harlequin clown shrimp, sea horses, moray eels, white tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, manta rays, rays, and turtles, alongside dense schools of tropical fish. The best conditions fall between December and March, with water temperatures ranging from 26–29°C.
All access is by boat, and currents can run strong here, making this an advanced-level dive despite some listings describing it as intermediate — divers should be comfortable in strong current. Visibility is generally great, and the rocky bottom terrain along the finger formations rewards careful exploration.
