Quimod Shoal lies in the waters off Malapascua Island, a small island north of Cebu in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Malapascua sits within the Visayan Sea, an area known for its dive operators running boat trips out to nearby reefs and shoals. Divers at this shoal have reported a varied mix of life, including Clark's anemonefish, three-spot dascyllus, Lamarck's angelfish, and the blue linckia sea star among the reef invertebrates. More notable sightings here have included whitetip reef sharks and pelagic thresher sharks, along with spiny seahorses, squat anemone shrimp, Ryukyu fairy wrasse, and long-spined crown-of-thorns starfish on the reef structure.
