Runway Reef is a coral reef at the east end of the runway in Subic Bay. A drop-off wall starts at about 5 m and continues below 20 m, with most of the reef between 9 and 18 m. It is often used for training less experienced divers, and experienced divers find it a fun dive too.
The reef is mostly hard coral with frequent sea whips and sea anemones, and a wide variety of reef fish live among the corals. Bluespotted stingrays and pufferfish are very common. The water is usually clear, which suits underwater photography.
