Shangri-La sits off San Salvador in the southern Bahamian archipelago, where shallow carbonate banks give way to deep water nearby. Divers here have reported a range of corals including blade fire coral, elliptical star coral, finger coral, lettuce coral, mustard hill coral, and staghorn coral, along with stoplight parrotfish and Atlantic blue tang moving over the reef structure. The site reflects the typical mix of coral growth and reef fish found along San Salvador's drop-offs.
