Sithanane Pare is a shallow reef dive near Nilaveli on the east coast of Sri Lanka, a short boat ride from the beach. It is also spelled Seethanane Pare. It is a pinnacle of big boulders and soft corals, with depths from about 5 m to a maximum of 18 m, and an average near 15 m.
Calm conditions and good visibility make it a good choice for beginners, students and fun divers, and for training dives.
Anemonefish and moray eels are found in abundance. A garden of Christmas tree worms adds colour to the rocky reef, which has both soft and hard corals. Turtles are seen occasionally, and schools of fish circle above you as you move through the site.
