Suana is a wall dive on the northeast of Nusa Penida where the reef plunges into deep, open water. It starts shallow and drops to 30 to 40 m in sections, and the structure makes an exciting vertical dive.
Currents can be strong and call for good buoyancy control and drift diving skills, so it is best for advanced divers who are comfortable with surges and depth changes. Visibility is generally excellent, though current can stir sediment. There are large sea fans, benthic organisms and occasional pelagic visitors, with schooling batfish, tuna, turtles and eagle rays and sharks reported on the drifts along this coast.
