Sunken Island is a massive pinnacle in the Gorontalo reefs of Sulawesi, Indonesia, a wall site rated intermediate. The reefs here are pristine, and divers on the pinnacle have found the remaining half of a cushion star next to the mature trumpet shell that had just eaten the other half.
The area is good for macro life, with crabs and other crustaceans, mimic octopus, frogfish, ghost pipefish and flamboyant cuttlefish, as well as anemones with decorator hermit crabs and humpback groupers.
