Taka Jaran lies off the northeast coast of Bali, in the waters of the Bali Sea near the island's popular northeastern dive region. The site has a sandy bottom and reaches a maximum depth of around 12 metres, making it a beginner-friendly dive. Divers have reported a wide range of small reef life here, including clownfish, ocellaris anemonefish, frogfish, octopus, pipefish, and nudibranchs alongside grouper and sweetlips, as well as blackpatch and orangestripe triggerfish, eastern triangle butterflyfish, moorish idol, humbug and lagoon damsels, staghorn damsels, and blue linckia sea stars. The mix makes it a good spot for those interested in smaller, sand-dwelling critters rather than big pelagic action.
