Tasi Tolu is a muck dive site located near Dili, Timor-Leste, and is widely regarded as the most famous muck dive in the capital. The bottom is a sandy slope reaching from 2 m to 20 m (roughly 6–66 ft), with scattered soft corals and sponges across the substrate — a classic macro photographer's terrain rather than a wall or reef structure.
The site is regularly home to seahorses, spider crabs, shrimps, eels, nudibranchs, flatworms, pygmy pipehorses, and frogfish. On luckier dives, dugong, mimic octopus, blue-ring octopus, Spanish dancer, ornate ghost pipefish, and robust ghost pipefish have all been recorded here. Night dives are a particularly good option for finding coconut octopus and bobtail squid.
Entry and exit are easy and accessible at any time, and the site is suitable for snorkellers as well as divers. The Open Water certification level is all that is required, making it one of the most approachable sites in the Dili area. A macro lens is the recommended choice given the small and cryptic nature of most of the resident species.
