Telephone Pole

Telephone Pole is a wall dive site at San Salvador, named for a distinctive coral formation that resembles a telephone pole rising from the reef. The site combines wall diving with coral gardens, and the wall itself features multiple terraces and overhangs.

The dive runs from around 14 metres (45 feet) at the shallowest point to beyond 30.5 metres (100+ feet) along the wall. Terraces and overhangs break up the vertical drop, giving the site varied structure for exploration.

Telephone Pole is reliably productive for Caribbean reef sharks, with multiple individuals expected on every dive. Nassau groupers shelter in the wall's overhangs, sea turtles are regularly sighted, and colorful reef fish and impressive coral structures round out what divers encounter here.
