Ten Mile Point is a shore dive site located near Oak Bay on Vancouver Island, in the Victoria area of British Columbia. It is suited to beginner to intermediate divers and is noted for offering calm, relatively forgiving conditions compared to many mainland British Columbia sites.
The terrain features kelp forests along with the cold, high-wave waters typical of the region. Currents are generally weaker than at mainland sites, though conditions can shift seasonally. Visibility is best in fall and winter, while spring and summer plankton blooms reduce clarity but bring increased marine activity. Cold water is a constant year-round, making a drysuit or cold-water wetsuit essential.
Marine life at Ten Mile Point includes kelp, flatfish, crabs, Giant Barnacles, and Plumose Anemones, with the site also offering good macro life. Boat traffic is an active hazard, and surface signaling devices are strongly recommended. High waves and cold water are additional considerations for dive planning.
