Tribird is a wreck dive off Boracay in the Philippines. The wreck is a Russian 36-seater aircraft that was sunk in 2012, and it lies at 29 to 30 m.
Structure. The fuselage is intact and allows penetration. Coral reef sea snakes sometimes shelter inside, while scorpionfish and nudibranchs colonise the exterior.
The depth requires Advanced Open Water certification, and nitrox is helpful at this depth. The wreck is less visited than the Camia II wreck, so it offers a different character for divers completing more than one wreck dive during a stay.
Planning. Surface marker buoy and torch are recommended gear for the wreck dives around Boracay, and a torch is useful for any penetration. Other wrecks nearby such as Camia II sit in the same depth range, so the two combine well.
