Vizakia Bay is a sheltered sandy bay at Protaras on the Mediterranean, reached by a gentle walk-in entry from the beach. The shallow water by the shore is deep enough for putting on fins and mask before the dive begins.
From the smooth sandy bottom the dive descends to around 5 metres, where a rocky canyon holds damselfish, wrasse, fangtooth moray, goatfish, jacks and even a lionfish. The canyon leads a little deeper to 10 metres, which is the maximum depth, making for a slow and relaxed dive.
Confirmed by our research team, reported by independent divers, or observed nearby via iNaturalist — each entry is labelled with its source.
