About this site
Yapak 2 is one of the two remote islands known as Yapak 1 and 2, close to Puerto Galera in the Philippines. They are exceptional wall dives with drops of 30 to 70 metres, and the steep walls are decorated with corals in nearly every shape and hue. Yapak 2 is rated technical, with a maximum depth of 40 metres.
The waters hold giant fish such as tuna and snapper, together with reef sharks. Divers have also reported white tip and grey reef sharks, dogtooth tuna, groupers, Napoleon wrasse and giant trevally. Waves and rough surface conditions are a concern, the tide and current need timing, a compass is needed for navigation, and the water entry is negative.
