Amphoras is a drift dive in the Sharm el Sheikh area, southwest of Tower. A sandy slope begins at about 12 m and carries pinnacles of hard and soft coral that shelter schools of glassfish. Towards the drop-off there are large gorgonian fans, and the dive suits all levels.
The name comes from a Turkish cargo ship that wrecked here, leaving amphora pots from its cargo, and its original anchor is still stuck in the reef at about 25 m.
The plateau is a good place to watch the drop-off for eagle rays, turtles and larger pelagic fish.
