Anchor is an advanced reef dive located in Mozambique, running 18 to 21 metres depth and characterised by a long reef structure packed with nooks and crannies among both hard and soft corals. The site takes its name from an anchor sitting on the southern end of Kev's Ledge, and the reef itself features two parallel ledges along with a small ledge running part of its length.
The southern end of the reef is where most of the larger reef fish congregate, and a small ledge along part of the structure shelters additional species. During the whaling season, the area fills with the song of whales, adding an auditory dimension to the dive.
Marine life at Anchor includes Red Fang Triggerfish, Emperor Angelfish, Yellowback Fusilier, Coral Rock-Cod, Crocodile Fish (present but notoriously difficult to spot), Trumpetfish, Raggy Scorpionfish, and Porcupinefish. The reef holds an abundance and variety of reef fish across its two parallel ledges.
The site is rated advanced and current is described as light. No specific entry or visibility information is given for this site.
