Black Hawk (aft section) is the stern of the Black Hawk, a 7,191-ton US Liberty ship built in 1943 that lies off Kimmeridge. The ship was torpedoed on 29 December 1944 while sailing in convoy from Cherbourg to Fowey.
Her stern sank in deep water off Kimmeridge. The bow section was towed towards Worbarrow Bay during salvage operations and now lies in 16 to 18 metres, where blasting has scattered it so that a pipeline can pass through the bay.
