About this site
Calabas Reef is a shore-entry reef dive site that also serves as an active coral nursery, where 480 corals have been planted as part of an ongoing restoration effort. Even setting the nursery aside, the reef stands as a popular site in its own right, valued for its easy entry and convenient location.
The reef is well suited to beginner divers, with straightforward shore access making it approachable for those early in their diving experience. Visibility at the site is consistently great.
Marine life at Calabas Reef includes sea turtles, eagle rays, barracuda, groupers, frogfish, and a variety of corals growing across the reef structure. Rough ocean conditions are the primary hazard to be aware of when planning a dive here.
