About this site
The Chapel is a shore dive at Cape Greco in Cyprus. It overlooks the Bay of Konnos, with a small white chapel perched on the cliffs above. The chapel was built to watch over the local fishing fleet and now marks one of the most scenic shore dives on the island.
Entry is a simple walk down to the cave beneath the chapel, then a giant stride or roll into the water. The wall drops from shallow 10 to 15 m (33 to 49 ft) sections to deeper parts at 25 to 30 m (82 to 98 ft), with dramatic rock formations, sea grass, sheer drops, overhangs and hidden swim-throughs. The site is rated intermediate to advanced.
Big groupers shadow divers from below, eels and morays sit in the crevices, and stingrays sometimes cruise above the seabed.
