Church Reef sits along the reef system fringing Roatan in Honduras's Bay Islands, part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef that runs along the island's coastline. Sites in this stretch of Roatan are typically reached by short boat rides from dive operators based along the north or south shore. Divers here have reported a good variety of reef fish, including Atlantic blue tang, blue chromis, bluehead wrasse, French angelfish, four-eyed butterflyfish, stoplight and striped parrotfish, sergeant majors, and yellowtail damselfish, along with Atlantic long-spined sea urchins among the reef structure.
