About this site
Colombia Deep is a wall dive site off Cozumel, Mexico, reaching depths of 30–40 m (100–130 ft) and descending into the abyss beyond. The walls drop sharply and the reef structure includes several swim-throughs, with the surfaces heavily loaded with soft corals and sponges in strong colours.
Currents at Colombia Deep are unpredictable, and the combination of depth, wall diving, and variable water movement makes this a site suited to more advanced divers. The verified maximum depth is 39.8 m.
Marine life at the site includes passing pelagics, stingrays, and turtles moving into the deep blue. The reef itself, with its dense soft-coral and sponge growth, attracts a wide variety of life along the walls and through the swim-throughs.
