Coral Garden is a shallow beginner site at Pulau Tenggol, a gentle sandy-bottomed reef scattered with coral heads and soft corals. Depths stay shallow, around 6 to 10 m, the water is calm, and there is little or no surge, which makes it good for practising buoyancy.
Green and hawksbill turtles glide over the sand. White-spotted puffers, parrotfish, blue-spotted stingrays, fusiliers and seahorses, including tiny pygmy seahorses, are what you see. The dry season, April to October, gives the best visibility, typically 15 to 30 m.
