About this site
Gili Asahan is a dive site off the island of the same name in the Lombok area, a crescent-shaped island with volcanic rock along its shore.
The site has shallow reefs close to the surface and deeper walls where larger fish are found. It lies within a marine reserve, and divers are asked to take care not to damage the coral.
Mid-morning is the best time to see hawksbill turtles, which are found here at around 12 metres.
