J & R Macro sits along the coast near the Bunaken/Manado area of North Sulawesi, Indonesia, a region with a strong tradition of muck and macro diving. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 10 metres and is rated an intermediate dive despite its shallow profile. Divers have reported a wide range of small subjects here, including nudibranchs, rhinopias, and yellowspotted scorpionfish, along with blackspotted puffers, Pacific trumpetfish, and tawny hermit crabs working the bottom. Reef fish such as blue demoiselles, speckled damsels, three-spot dascyllus, Indo-Pacific sergeant majors, and golden-striped mackerel have also been seen passing over the site, with blue Linckia sea stars adding to the mix on the substrate. It fits the pattern of fine, sheltered bottom typical of macro-focused sites in this part of Sulawesi.
