Kas is a coastal town on Turkey's Turquoise Coast, in Antalya province, sitting on a small peninsula facing the Greek island of Kastellorizo. The waters here are part of the eastern Mediterranean, with the surrounding coastline marked by limestone cliffs and a series of bays used as boat launch points for local dive operators. Divers in the area have reported a mix of species more typical of Red Sea waters that have spread into the eastern Mediterranean, including flavimaculosus puffer, Indian lionfish, red Sea goatfish, red squirrelfish, reticulated leatherjacket, rivulated rabbitfish, and twospot cardinalfish.
