Los Altones sits along the west coast of Cozumel, an island off the Yucatan Peninsula in Quintana Roo, Mexico, in the same stretch of Caribbean coastline that hosts the island's well known reef sites. The area is reached by boat from San Miguel de Cozumel, and dive operators there run trips along this shoreline year round. Divers have also reported Caribbean spiny lobster and smooth trunkfish tucked along the reef here.
