Seal Rock is a sloping reef dive site accessed directly from the beach at high tide, located on the west coast of Timor-Leste. The reef runs from a shallow snorkelling zone down to a maximum depth of 40 metres, with the shallowest point at around 5 metres. Large barrel sponges and soft corals are distributed throughout, along with a high diversity of reef fish.
Hawksbill turtles pass through regularly, and large spiny lobsters shelter in the shallower sections of the reef. On favourable days, reef sharks, tuna, and mackerel are also encountered. The site is suitable for Open Water Diver-certified divers and can also be enjoyed by snorkellers.
Strong currents run through the site, so dives are best planned around slack tide to manage the flow safely. Water temperatures range from 27–30 °C. A wide-angle lens is recommended for photography given the sponge and coral formations.
