Tanjung Arus, also called Tanjung Lampu or Cape Current, sits at the northernmost tip of Talisei Island and is one of the standout dive sites in the Bangka group area. The site features a wall that drops to more than 30 metres, with a large underwater cave — known locally as Goa Tanjung Arus — accessible from three separate openings at around 20 metres depth, requiring no specialist cave diving certification.
Soft and hard corals cover the site throughout the wall and cave structures, providing habitat for a wide range of species. Leaf scorpionfish, Napoleon wrasse, and bumphead parrotfish are regularly encountered, along with sharks and tuna visiting the site.
Currents at Tanjung Arus can run strong, which is reflected in its local name, Cape Current, but the site is considered suitable for beginners and the underwater life makes it well worth the conditions.
