Weh Island sits off the northern tip of Sumatra, near Banda Aceh in Aceh province, marking the westernmost edge of Indonesia where the Andaman Sea meets the Indian Ocean. West Seulako lies along this island's reef coast, reached by boat from operators based around Iboih and Gapang on Weh's western side. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported a wide range of life on the reef here, including anthias, bluefin trevally, giant and laced morays, bluespotted fantail rays, ribbon eels, octopus, leaf scorpionfish, lionfish, various nudibranchs including the black-margined and gem sea slug, surgeonfish, triggerfish, and pentagonal honeycomb coral, along with the occasional long-spined crown-of-thorns.
