Yamabare is a dive site dived from Ishigaki, and green turtles are a regular sight here. Divers are often greeted by turtles at the site, and approaching slowly lets them stay close enough for a photograph together, while one was once found sleeping in the afternoon.
Small corals are growing across the site and get a little bigger each year. Macro life is plentiful as well, with shrimps, crabs and nudibranchs, and an ornate ghost pipefish has been spotted. When the wind changes, boats may shift to the reefs around Sakieda instead.
