Grecian Rocks is a shallow coral reef located within the Key Largo Marine Sanctuary, part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, and is one of the most popular beginner diving and snorkeling destinations in the Upper Keys. The reef sits at a maximum depth of 25 feet (7.7 metres) and features dense coral heads and coral gardens that rise close to the surface, creating a lagoon-like profile well suited to long bottom times and relaxed exploration.
Conditions at Grecian Rocks are characteristically calm, with minimal current and excellent visibility in clear, shallow water. The protected setting and easy navigation make it a confident choice for first-time divers and snorkelers, including families with children.
The reef supports a colourful community of tropical fish, including parrotfish, angelfish, grunts, blue tangs, and butterflyfish moving among the coral formations. The shallow, well-lit water makes the site well suited to underwater photography.
