Batee Gla is a reef dive site whose rocks form a ridge that rises from the surface and slopes down to more than 40 metres deep, with massive rock formations featuring pinnacles and swim-throughs. The dramatic topography creates the sensation of flying over a mountain ridge, and the site regularly offers great visibility to take it all in.
Current typically sweeps past the ridge, which adds to the dynamic feel of the dive. Water temperature sits at 28–29°C and the site can be dived year-round. Maximum depth reaches 30 metres within recreational limits, though the ridge itself continues beyond that.
The reef supports a varied mix of marine life, including reef sharks, marble rays, stingrays, barracuda, turtles, garden eels, ribbon eels, honeycomb moray eels, lionfish, harlequin sweetlips, oriental sweetlips, unicorn fish, parrotfish, and an assortment of reef fish.
Batee Gla is rated suitable for beginner divers, making the impressive ridge topography and its resident marine life accessible to a wide range of certification levels.
