Boluarte is a reef dive site at Apo Island, named after the iconic Boluarte Rock there. The site is composed of a slope covered in soft and hard corals, diveable in either direction along the slope. A notable feature is gas bubbles emerging from the sand at around 10 metres depth, with a maximum depth of 11 metres.
The site suits beginner divers given its shallow maximum depth of 11 metres and slope-style terrain. Current is medium, so conditions should be checked before entry, as site selection at Apo Island is typically guided by prevailing current.
Marine life at Boluarte includes turtles, sea snakes, trevallies, and groupers along the coral slope, with bump head parrotfish passing through as an occasional highlight worth watching for.
