The Constellation is a wreck in Bermuda, a four-masted schooner that sank in 1942 and lies at about 60 feet (18 metres). Sponges and corals cover her.
She was carrying war supplies, including cement, slate, Scotch, glassware and even drug ampules, when her pumps failed. While waiting for a pilot boat she drifted onto the reef and sank just 50 feet (15 metres) from the Montana, a Confederate blockade runner that went down in 1863 in 30 feet (9 metres) of water. The Montana's bow is still recognisable, and her engine stands upright. The pair of wrecks inspired the novel The Deep.
Lobsters, eels, blue parrotfish, butterflyfish, wrasses and sergeant majors live around the wreck. The season is April to November, with water at 20 to 29 degrees Celsius.
