Deep Blue is a challenging drift dive at Amed in Bali, about 15 minutes by local jukung boat, for advanced divers. It starts in a shallow bay with coral bommies covered in sea fans, with many small fish hovering around them. In the deeper part, at about 30 m, the current carries you along the reef. It runs horizontally, with no up or down current, so you can relax and enjoy the show.
Schools of batfish, snappers, Napoleon wrasse, giant trevally and barracuda make for an exciting dive, and sharks and turtles are often spotted too. Visibility is great and water temperature is 26 to 30°C.
