About this site
El Cien ("The Hundred") is a deeper reef site located within Cabo Pulmo National Park, reaching a maximum depth of 30 metres (100 feet). The site is characterised by reef bars and is designated for advanced certified divers only, reflecting its depth and the more demanding conditions that come with it.
The reef draws a notable range of pelagic species, with multiple shark types regularly encountered, including bull, sand, tiger, and nurse sharks. Schooling tuna and bigeye trevally cruise overhead, while turtles, mobula rays, and colourful tropical fish are also commonly sighted.
Peak conditions across Cabo Pulmo, including this site, fall between July and January, when water temperatures are at their warmest and visibility is at its highest.
