Estella Reef lies off Puerto Rico's coast, in the waters surrounding the island in the northeastern Caribbean, with its coordinates placing it well offshore to the west of the main island in an area shaped by the broader shelf and reef systems there. Divers have reported Atlantic blue tang, bicolor damselfish, Caribbean bluehead wrasse, and ocean surgeonfish moving over the reef, along with mustard hill coral and redband parrotfish among the structure.
