Koh Torinla is a small island situated just south of Koh Surin Tai, part of the Surin Islands group in Thailand. The eastern reef is noted for its hard coral coverage, with staghorn and other varieties sloping gently from the beach down to around 15 m (the maximum depth reaching 16.2 m).
The reef terrain runs as a gentle slope from shallow water near the beach down to depth, making it well suited to beginner divers in light current conditions. Visibility is great, water temperature sits between 28–30°C, and the season runs November through April.
Fish life on the eastern reef is abundant, with bumphead parrotfish, blacktip sharks, batfish, and Jenkins whip rays among the species regularly encountered. Hawksbill turtles are described as very common, particularly in the shallower sections of the reef. Fusiliers, snapper, trevallies, and barracuda are also present, along with sea turtles.
