The Ling Rocks are a group of rocks 9 km south-southeast of Kinsale in Ireland. They do not break the surface and rise from the seabed to a shallowest point of about 22 metres at low water, with depths around the rocks down to 70 metres. Because of the offshore position, the depth and some current, it is a dive for experienced divers.
The walls are encrusted with anemones in every colour of the colour wheel, including jewel, dahlia and plumose anemones. Lobster, crayfish, squat lobsters, brown crabs and spider crabs live among the rocks, and big conger eels lurk in the crevices. Shoals of whiting, hake, pollack and wrasse swim around, and ling are plentiful, as the name suggests.
