About this site
Lionfish Wall is a wall dive in Yap, beside the Yap Caverns and reached from a mooring buoy. Spinner dolphins are a notable feature here: a large school was jumping near the boat at the mooring, and during a dive in the caverns the dolphins could be heard throughout. Six came within 10 feet (3 metres) of divers at the safety stop along the wall, in very clear water.
Divers have also reported pilot whales, whale sharks, oceanic silvertip and oceanic whitetip sharks, huge schools of bumphead wrasse, harlequin ghost pipefish and leaf fish around the caverns and the wall.
