Marine Park Reefs is a protected marine area estimated to stretch between Kolymbia and Kiotari on the east coast of Rhodes in Greece. It holds several small reefs and Posidonia oceanica seagrass meadows, a key habitat for Mediterranean biodiversity.
Dives over the meadows turn up cuttlefish, octopuses and juvenile fish. Some parts of the area have shallow canyons and rocky plateaus reaching 25 to 35 m, which makes them a choice for advanced divers. Dive sites within the area are often selected according to wind and visibility.
Posidonia is protected and damaging it is strictly prohibited, so keep good buoyancy control. The dives are best in spring and early autumn, when the sea is clear and less crowded. Soft-blade fins are recommended to avoid touching the seagrass.
