Nassimo Thila is an oval-shaped thila inside North Male' Atoll in the Maldives, designated a Marine Protected Site. It sits a short boat trip, about ten minutes, from the resort side of the atoll. Scattered pinnacles on it go down to 30 m.
The very top of the thila averages 10 to 15 m, and the favourable depth range for the dive is 20 to 26 m. On the northwest side, at 15 m, a series of overhangs begins. A few metres away stand five massive coral pinnacles adorned with soft corals in blue and yellow, and depths drop here to 26 to 30 m.
The best dives are on a favourable outgoing current, not too strong and not too weak. The entry is made in the blue and divers drift toward the thila on its northwest side. The site suits advanced divers.
Tuna and giant trevally can often be seen hunting around the pinnacles.
On air you can begin to shallow the dive from the last block onwards. If the current is slow, you can ascend to shallower water for more bottom time and keep enjoying the overhangs at 15 to 18 m.
