The Phi Phi Islands are an archipelago of seven islands east of Phuket in Thailand. Boats from Phuket dive at Bida Nok, Bida Nai and Phi Phi Lei, and the others are Koh Yung, Koh Mai Phai and the largest, Phi Phi Don. Bida Nai and Bida Nok are among the best known dive destinations around Phuket.
Depths run around 10 to 30 metres with visibility of about 25 metres. The sites have many overhangs, swim-throughs and caves.
Leopard sharks are abundant, and blacktip reef sharks, turtles, sea snakes, clownfish and filefish are regular. Soft corals, sea fans, anemones and hard corals are plentiful.
The high season is November to April. Most of the best sites are on the southwest side, which takes the waves during the monsoon, when visibility is generally poor.
