Playa Kalki is a shore-entry reef dive on the north-west coast of Curaçao, locally known for its "Alice in Wonderland" coral garden. The reef starts at just 3 metres depth and the main visual density lies in the 3–6 metre zone, making it well suited to beginners; the verified maximum depth is 5 metres. Healthy elkhorn and staghorn corals cover the shallows — both considered rare across the wider Caribbean — and the reef cascades downward from there toward a deeper wall, though the swim out to the wall is long.
Entry is from the pebble beach, so water shoes are recommended. Visibility at Playa Kalki is regularly 30-plus metres, among the clearest on the island, and conditions are calm, with light current and water temperatures ranging from 26–29 °C year-round. The site is diveable in every season, with December through April being a noted period.
Marine life on the reef includes hawksbill turtles that forage in the shallows, schools of blue chromis, queen angelfish, and parrotfish cruising the reef top. Eagle rays, barracuda, sea turtles, porcupinefish, goldentail moray, viper moray, and scorpionfish are also recorded at the site. Mornings around 9–10 AM are when turtle activity peaks. Divers should watch for boat traffic near the entry area.
