Plus is a three-masted sailing ship wreck lying very close to the shoreline near Mariehamn, Åland, in the Baltic Sea. The vessel is described as a smaller sister ship to the four-masted barque Pommern, sharing recognizable structural features with her. The wreck sits listing heavily on one side, with the deck angled sharply rather than lying flat.
The wreck can be explored thoroughly across multiple dives, with layout features including cabins, bow compartments, a tool compartment containing items such as a blowtorch, midships sections, and aft areas. Visibility is frequently poor, particularly in the midships area where conditions have been likened to diving in milk, though the bow area can clear up considerably, offering good views into forward compartments. A current runs from the starboard side and up along the deck. The site is shielded from the worst winds by its position close to shore, though surface conditions can still be rough depending on weather.
Entry is by boat. The site is used as a base wreck for extended stays, lending itself to repeated dives that allow divers to learn the full layout at a measured pace and work on technique in a confined, increasingly familiar environment. Divers with cameras should be aware that poor visibility frequently makes photography unrewarding.
