Sabalos is one of the southern reefs off Playa del Carmen, on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, at about 13 m. It is rated three stars out of four for difficulty, with little to moderate current, and sits among the shallow reef dives where bottom times of around an hour are typical.
Dives here drift with the current, which lets you cover more reef with less effort.
